The Gym
The Gym at the Club
The gym is a new addition at the Carrick-On-Suir Handball & Racquetball club, and the use of its facilities is included in the membership fee. It operates on a pay for light bases, the cost of the lights for the gym is €1 for 25 minutes. The gym allows players of handball or racquetball to warm up before a game, which gets your cardiovascular system going before a game. The gym can also be used by members both male and females, who want to work out and keep themselves fit using all the equipment.
Physical fitness is a general state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate to vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest.
The Equipment
The gym includes many barbell weights, dumbbells weights, weight benches, a multi purpose gym bench, kettlebell weights, an abs bench, a tread mill, cross trainers, punching bags, a spinning bike and many other exercise bikes. There are also exercise plans posted on the the walls to help members work out carefully and correctly. Posted on the walls are also techniques on how to stretch properly. To find out more on the do's and don'ts of stretching can be found here. The use of the equipment is to be done in a carefull and respectful manner.
